Without an account, your settings, daily energy, practice statistics, saved words and exercise progress are stored only on your device. Nothing about you is sent to our servers, apart from what the spoken exercises and the picture tutor need (see below).

If you buy a subscription, the purchase is processed by Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS). We and our subscription-management provider RevenueCat receive purchase tokens, product and transaction information and pseudonymous identifiers needed to activate and validate your subscription. We never receive your payment card details.
If you use the spoken exercises (Dialogs, Say It Back, Describe a picture), the microphone is active only while you say a line, and your speech is turned into text by your phone's own speech recognition service: Google's on Android, Apple's on iOS. Depending on the device and the language packs installed, that service may process the audio on the device or on Google's or Apple's servers, under their own privacy policies; the system asks for your permission first. The app receives only the recognised text, which it uses to score the line. It never records, stores or uploads audio.
If you use Describe a picture, the text of each answer you give (recognised from your speech, or typed), the conversation so far, the picture and your app language are sent to our server (Google Cloud Functions) and from there to OpenAI, whose language model writes the tutor's reply, its translation and any correction. OpenAI processes this as our service provider under its API terms, which exclude using it to train its models; it may retain it briefly for abuse monitoring. The request carries your user ID (or, for a guest, an anonymous app identifier), which our server uses to check your plan with RevenueCat and to count your conversations; your name and email are not sent. The tutor's spoken replies are generated with Google Cloud Text-to-Speech and cached on our servers by their text alone, not linked to you. Our server keeps per-user counters (conversations and answers today and this month, and their cost) and a log of each turn's timing, model and cost; none of this contains the text of your answers. The conversation transcript itself is stored only on your device; only the words you choose to save go into your synced flashcard deck.
Usage analytics. Google Firebase Analytics collects usage events (for example screens viewed, an exercise started or completed, a subscription bought), an app-instance identifier, your account's user ID if you are signed in, device model, operating system version and coarse location (country, derived from your IP address). On Android it also collects the Google advertising ID, which you can reset or delete in your device's settings; on iOS the advertising identifier (IDFA) is never accessed. We use this solely to understand how the app is used and to improve it, never for advertising, and we do not combine it with data from other companies. On Android, analytics is off until you agree in the first-run prompt. On iOS, analytics is on from the first launch. On both platforms you can switch it on or off at any time under Account → Usage analytics; switching it off stops collection immediately.
Speech recognition is performed by your phone's own service (Google on Android, Apple on iOS). It is part of the operating system rather than a processor acting for us, and handles your speech under Google's or Apple's own privacy policy.
These providers process data on our behalf and may do so on servers outside the EU/EEA (including the United States); transfers are protected by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone beyond the processors listed above, unless we are legally required to do so.

We will delete your authentication account and your synced data (preferences, energy, statistics, flashcard decks, dialog progress, subscription status record) within 30 days, together with the picture tutor's usage counters kept under your user ID. Data that exists only on your device is removed by uninstalling the app. Note that deleting your account does not by itself cancel an active subscription — manage or cancel it where you bought it: on Android in the Play Store under Payments & subscriptions, on iOS in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email andriiudodwork@icloud.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Austria, the Datenschutzbehörde (DSB).
DasGo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
If we change this policy, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
